IL1040 doesn’t have SS benefits of $21,744 from SSA-1099 correct on line 5; reads $11,488. IRA income is $11,487 on line 1&4 IL 1040. Why is line 5 not matching SSA-1099?

Illinois only uses taxable social security income from line 20b of your Form 1040.

Line 5 on your Illinois tax return should match line 20b on your Form 1040 or line 14b on Form 1040A - not the SSA-1099.
