Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund pension is Illinois income tax exempt. 

How do I reduce my Illinois income of Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund pension on turbotax system to eliminate paying Illinois state tax?

IL pension tax free

In the TurboTax state return for Illinois, you are able to indicate the 1099-R income that is exempt.  If you have completed the state return, go back and edit the income.
