My 1099-R IRA/SEP/SIMPLE box shows the abbreviation for my state instead of a checkmark or being left blank. Turbo Tax asks whether the box is checked. What should I say?

If the state abbreviation is actually in the box, the only way to tell is to get in touch with the pension administrator to find out what it is.
