Do you have a TurboTax Online account?

We'll help you get started or pick up where you left off.

If I worked for a company, they reported my income on a 1099-NEC, why is TurboTax asking me if their accounting method is cash, accrual or other?

Why do I have to do a Schedule C?

Independent contractors, freelancers, sole proprietors, and self-employed individuals are examples of “nonemployees” who would receive a 1099-NEC.

If you have 1099-NEC income you are considered to be self-employed and you would report your income and and expenses on Schedule C.
