If I have no income taxes or withholdings for the state and my only income is retirement/pensions, am I still required to file a state tax return?

Many states do not tax retirement income when you are at retirement age. You can use the link for your state below to see if your state allows exemption for retirement pay. It's possible that they could require you to file even if you have no tax liability.
