I worked as a consultant for 6 weeks and made a total of $7,500 from 9/10-10/17. Do I need to file 1040es income tax estimates by 9/15/19 or can it wait to 1/15/20?

You made this income in what tax year?  2019?  You will receive a 1099Misc for 2019 in January 2020 that you will have to put on your 2019 tax return.  If you expect to owe over $1000 when you file, it would be a good idea to pay some estimated tax now.  Otherwise, pay at tax filing time.  We do not know what other income you had in 2019 so we don't know if you should file estimated tax.
