You have until April 1, 2018 to take your *first* RMD if you turned 70 1/2 in 2017, so take your 2017 RMD ASAP. You also will nee to take yiur 2018 RMD before the end of 2018. Both distributions will be reported on a 2018 1099-R next year on your 2018 tax return. You do not have to report anything for 2017.
