I retired early over a year ago and did not receive any income in 2023. My wife made all of our income. How should I file our taxes for 2023?

How should I file if only one spouse has income?

You should be filing as Married Filing Jointly even if one spouse has little or no income.  Filing jointly will give you the best outcome on your tax return.

You still file a joint return, even if one spouse had little or no income.   And..when you say you had "no" income----did you receive Social Security or a pension?   Those go on your joint return if you received them.

By filing a joint return, you get the married standard deduction of $27,700 (+$1500 for each spouse 65 or older), making less of your joint income taxable.
