I retired April 29, 2016. Does this event need to be reflected somewhere in my 2016 tax filing?

I was employed in 2016 and retired April 29, 2016. Do I need to show in my 2016 filing the fact that I retired?

Being retired is not reported on a tax return. Where you are asked for your Occupation you can enter Retired but that field is only used by the IRS for statistical purposes only.
