For 2015 and 2016 tax, I ended up owing around $3000 each year. I filed as married joint, and we bot have 1 for the numbers of allowance on our W-4. What should I do?

I recommend that both you and your husband change your allowances from 1 to 0 on your W-4's at work.  This way, the both of you will be paying a little more each pay period, but will not get hit hard come next April 15.
