I received an RMD and I made contributions to qualified 501(c)(3) charities, but I did so directly instead of having the Trustee execute them. Can I still use those contributions to reduce my AGI? How to report in TurboTax?

No, you cannot use those contributions as Qualified Charitable Distributions that reduce your AGI. A Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) has to be paid by the IRA trustee directly to the charity, without you having control of the money.

 

If you itemize deductions you can include the contributions in your deduction for charitable contributions, just like any other contributions that you make.

Next time have the check made out to the charity ( not you) if you want to hand deliver it yourself.
