I received a distribution from a Trust last year. Do I need to file a form K-1? The distribution was for $25,000. My agi is $95,000

You need to contact the trustee of the trust. The trustee would be the party responsible for ensuring that a return was filed and K-1s were issued (if necessary).

If you received a K-1 from the Trust, yes, you have to enter it.

  • If trust and estate beneficiaries are entitled to receive the income, the beneficiaries must pay the income tax rather than the trust or estate. At the end of the year, all income distributions made to beneficiaries must be reported on a Schedule K-1.
