Turbo tax says the "B" should not be used for IRA distributions but it is what in Box 7
You should enter code 2B as 2 separate codes. In the entry screen of form 1099-R, there are two lines to enter the codes in box 7. In the first box, choose 2. In the second box. choose B.
Code B is for a Designated Roth account distribution.
If you are unsure, you should reach out to the issuer of the form 1099-R.
In the questions that follow the entry of the Form 1099-R details, you must indicate that the distribution is NOT from a Roth IRA. This is a trick question that serves only to catch the unwary since the code B already indicates that the distribution is not from a Roth IRA. Edit the Form 1099-R and answer this question correctly.
