I paid taxes to Alabama on my 1099R it shows that I over paid my taxes should I receive the refund? Why is there no place to show this on the tax form?

Yes. You should receive a refund if you do not owe Alabama for prior years, or any other governmental agency (e.g. IRS, child support, etc.).

You do not need to upgrade to review your state tax return. TurboTax online does provide a summary of your state return. To access this feature do the following while in your return:

Scroll to  "State" in the menu left of the screen

Scroll and select Tax Tools

Click Tools

Select View Tax Summary under Other helpful links

Alabama's state tax return should appear for your viewing. To exit the state summary page, select Back located in the left side menu..

To review the actual state tax return, you will have to purchase the TurboTax CD/Download version.
