You don't have to file if you only get SS.  It is not taxable.  You I'll have a zero return.  So don't buy the 2018 program.  You can fill out 2018 for free since no income will be on it. Just enter the total SS in box 5a and 0 in box 5b.

Or you can use the Free Edition but you cannot e-file a no taxable income tax return.  It must be mail filed.

Didn't notice that.  Why would you want to file 2018 now if no income?
