I need to retrieve a missing 1099 from my retirement account. Is it possible to go ahead to start the next segment? It will take a few days.

I hate to stop the return in the middle because I'm waiting for the 1099 to come in the mail after I have sent a change-of-address to the retirement office snailmail if I can continue on to the deductions segment and enter answers.

Yes, you can go ahead and move on to the next segment. Just make sure you do not file your return. You can always come back and make corrections because you return will be saved.
