I need to enter in form 1099-R but I am unable to locate the Financial Institution. It is not listed in most common, and when I type it in, it still does not recognize.

Instead of typing in the Financial Institution's name in the box under "We'll help you find and import info from your bank...", click the I'll type it in myself button at the bottom of the screen. You'll then be able to follow the program prompts to manually enter your 1099-R information.  It will save you some time to do it this way.
