If you need to create/issue a 1099(s) in TurboTax Online you will need the TurboTax Online Self-Employed Version (upgrade instructions below, if needed) and then following these steps below will allow you to create and issue the 1099 form: 

• Log in and if you see “Take me to my return”, select that and it will take you to welcome screen
• On the Welcome screen, you should see “Manage Your Return” section and “Manage Your Account” section.
• Under “Manage Your Return,” you should see “Create W-2s and 1099s”
• Once you select “Create W-2s and 1099s,” another window will pop up and this will be the Quick Employer Forms window.
• This is where you either log in or create an account and then create 1099s.

How do I upgrade or switch to a higher version of TurboTax Online?

1. If your return isn't already open, sign in and click the orange Take me to my return button. 
2. Click Upgrade, located near the top of your screen. Don't see it?
3. In the pop-up window, scroll down to the bottom, select the version you'd like to upgrade to, and click Upgrade Now.
4. Before you can print or e-file, we'll prompt you to enter your payment information. You can also prepay at any time by doing this:
   1. Go to the File topic, and then click Start or Revisit to the right of Review your order.
   2. Keep going until you see How would you like to pay for TurboTax? On that screen, select Pay with your credit card.
   3. Enter your credit card information and then click Pay Now.
   4. Sign out and then sign back in to access your prior-year return or other upgrade feature.
