I need to address a discrepancy on my 1099 form and am unsure how to do this?

Online it says I need to report on line 21 or schedule C -- not sure how to do that on here!

To clarify your comment, was this a 1099-MISC or a 1099-NEC? Why did you receive the money?

It was a 1099-NEC for a contract position. They said they paid me a certain amount of money but I was paid less.

If there is an issue with the amount of money you were paid, you'll have to take that up with the person that paid you.

The 1099-NEC is Non Employee Compensation and if it was contract work will be subject to self-employment tax.  If you post it to a schedule C you will be able to take expenses against that income.

I'm not sure of what you're referring to about line 21.  What form is that on?
