The income allocation is pretty straighforward: report to NJ on a part-year return as NJ-source income the soc. sec. and retirement income you received while you lived there. Same for the Calif part-year return: report as Calif-source the total SS & retirement less the amounts reported to NJ.
You do not have double-taxed income so don't go down the path of the Other state tax credit.
