I moved from Virginia December 31 of last year. I cashed out my state retirement this year. Do I file in both states? Or just in the state that I currently live in?

If you did not receive your retirement until after Jan. 1, 2017 you will receive a 1099-R for 2017 and report it next year in your new state.
