Not sure what "employment section" you are referring to. There is no place on a tax return to indicate whether you are employed. In MY INFO you are asked for your "occupation"---and you can use anything you want to. Occupation is only used by the IRS for statistical purposes; it has no effect on your tax due or refund.
If you do not have a W-2 from working you can tell the software that you do not have a W-2; if an old employer transferred over from 2024, you can delete the employer if you did not work for them in 2025.
Do you have retirement income to enter?
Go to Federal> Wages & Income>>Retirement Plans and Social Security (SSA1099 and 1099RRB) to enter your SSA1099.
To enter your retirement income, Go to Federal> Wages and Income>Retirement Plans and Social Security>IRA 401 k) Pension Plan Withdrawals to enter your 1099R.
If you're posting your personal information and you came to Occupation or job title, type in Retired.
