I'm over 70 1/2 . I directed a portion of my obligatory IRA distribution directly to charities. Where/how do I show this is not income?

The 1099-R shows the entire amount as taxable

After you enter the 1099-R in Turbo Tax, there are followup questions that ask about the qualified charitable contributions that will report the income correctly on the tax return.  You should continue (or start) the entry in Turbo Tax.
