Yeah...you just say that it was an RMD and that you received all of the RMD from that 1099-R.

Once you reach 70.5 years old, the tax software will ask you that.
Even for a pension, an RMD is required....thing is, you have no control over the amount..and the pension administrator predetermines the RMD amount and applies it automatically.
We have asked TTX administrators to add another selection...like "This was a regularly paid pension".....and avoid all the confusions all retirees have. But so far, they don't seem to believe it's needed.
