I’m confused why turbo tax is asking for my Roth IRA and traditional IRA when this information should be included in my W2 form. My 401k company has no such report

I’m stuck on the website because I cannot proceed further. I refuse to pay a fee because turbo tax makes their service complicated on purpose. Is this a Roth IRA outside of the one through my employer that they are inquiring after?

  • It is asking for information on IRA/Roth IRA other than what is available in W-2.
  • You can enter the details if you have any.
  • Taxpayers invest in IRA up to eligible amounts to reduce their tax liability or invest in ROTH IRA with post-tax money.

visit the IRS at https://www.irs.gov/filing/free-file-do-your-federal-taxes-for-free

to find truly free filing. Note that some include free state as well; that's important.
Otherwise, If you have to file a state return, and don't want to do that yourself, you will need software that you pay for.
