Do you have a TurboTax Online account?

We'll help you get started or pick up where you left off.

I just started using the Stash app for investments/retirement. I’m only getting 0.01 returns at this time as I’m new. But so I need to fill out a separate form for taxes?

It depends on whether you have any reportable interest, dividends or sales. You can contact Stash to find out if you have any tax forms for the year.

If you have interest income, Stash will send you a Form 1099-INT. If you have dividends, you will get a 1099-DIV. If you have sold any stock, crypto or funds, you will get a 1099-B.

Brokers usually send a Consolidated 1099 Statement with all three categories listed on the same report.

You may be able to import this information into TurboTax, but this feature won't be available until after January 31.

If you need to enter this information manually:

  1. Use the Search box toward the upper right corner of the screen to search for your form (1099-INT, 1099-DIV or 1099-B)
  2. Click on the Jump to link.
  3. Answer the questions to enter your information.

FYI ... consolidated statements usually don't get issued until mid to late February ... do NOT file until you have all the required information docs in hand.
