I just paid $71 dollars to file my taxes. It says the it is too early to file (wait till the 26th) and that the IRS has not finalized one or more of my forms. Is this just because I filed too early???

It has nothing to do with you in particular. Most forms are ready to be filed early in the tax season so don't be discouraged from doing so. Occasionally, the IRS will make late changes to a form or hold it back for some other reason and it will delay the process for that particular form. After they release the final version, then our programmers need time to make any changes and do quality testing. You can find the list of all forms below and you will notice that the vast majority are ready. The two that seem to be holding people up the most are health insurance related forms such as Form 8889 (HSA) and Form 4562 Depreciation. Note: This can also happen with state forms.
