I hold the H1b status since May 02 2016. Thus I consider myself as a residential tax payer. However I received one 1042s with income code as 20. What should I do?

Since your days on F1 do not count toward the substantial presence test, you are actually a dual status alien for 2016. You would file a 1040NR for the time on F1 during 2016 (the 1042s would go on that) and a 1040 for the time on H1b.

Turbotax does not support dual status returns. If you are married, you have other options, but if not, this is your only one.
