I have an inherited IRA for a decedent who was over 70 1/2 requiring an RMD;part of the RMD went to charity so I should have the ability to say it is a QCD.

The taxpayer is under 70, so your program does not ask questions about QCD. An inherited IRA that requires an RMD can make a QCD, Your program does not recognize this!

The beneficiary of an inherited IRA must be at least 70 1/2 to make a QCD.   The age of the original IRA owner is irrelevant.
