I have an early roth distribution of 10,000 that was used for the purchase of a house. Why is New Jersey claiming I have a $2287 gross distribution for this

I also have a 2,965 IRA to Roth conversion.  When I remove this line item, NJ No longer claims I have a $2287 gross distribution for the 10,000 early roth distribution and that all of the 10,000 is not a taxable pension distribution.  I don't understand how one impacts the other....

if you contributed $10,000 or more to your Roth IRA, that will not be taxable.

 

Did you go through the steps to enter your NJ basis in Traditional IRAs?. That would reduce the NJ taxable amount on a conversion of $2,965.
