I have a question I am retired, drawing social security, drawing a pension and working part time and got a 1099 misc. which package should I use?

I get a 1099r form my pension and investments, a 1099ss from social security, and a 1099 miscellaneous from a part time job.

Before the part time job I used the delux package.  Is that still a good choice?  I was paid less than $1500 for the part time job.

You can either report the money as hobby income or as self employed as [mention://77258962 [mention://77258962 @TurboTaxKatrinaB]] reported.  Hobby income won't require you to upgrade to TT Self employed but won't allow you to deduct expenses unless you are itemizing and are subject to further limitations.  How to report hobby income here: https://ttlc.intuit.com/replies/5675605 . Do note that intent to make a profit is a requirement to report as self employed as otherwise the IRS will consider it a hobby.  Read more about Hobby vs. Self Employed at IRS here https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/hobby-or-business-irs-offers-tips-to-decide

You qualify to use TurboTax Deluxe if you don't have any expenses to claim for your 1099-MISC income. If you do have expenses then you'll need to file using TurboTax Self-Employed.

Please view the TurboTax link below for more information about possible deductions.
