I have a 1099R with a gross distribution, but not taxable income. Should I enter it?

Your distribution amount will be listed in box 1. In box 2 is the taxable amount. Does this say $0 in box 2? There is also a check box if taxable amount was not determined.  

 

You do need to enter it, but TurboTax will guide you to show as non-taxable if it indeed is.

Yes---you must enter your 1099R.

 

To enter your retirement income, Go to  Federal> Wages and Income>Retirement Plans and Social Security>IRA  401 k) Pension Plan Withdrawals to enter your 1099R.
