I have a 1099-r for a pension inheritance. Nothing is marked in box 7. Turbo Tax won't let me proceed. What do I do?

Could box 7 say 7?  7 is the most common code and is the same as the box #.

I would hope that box 7 has a code 4 and not a 7.    A 7 would not be inherited.

Whose name and SSN is on the 1099-R?    Your wife's or her father's?

If box is is indeed blank then it is an improper 1099-R that the insurer must correct.
