I got a letter from the IRS about some winnings I won two years prior that I didn't claim. Will this effect when i get my taxes back. I plan on paying it with my taxes.

Yes this could hold or delay your refund.  I am not sure what the IRS letter indicated, but if they have already assessed the tax due on those past winnings, they will most likely offset any tax owed by a portion of your refund.  

You may want to contact the number shown on the letter and find out what to expect.
