I entered my wife's 1098-T and now it is asking me whether or not she received veterans benefits. How do I know if she did receive these benefits or not?

Your spouse should know if she got military benefits to pay for the school ... ask her.

Some schools include VA benefits, in box 5 of the 1098-T; some do not.  You have to figure that out from your own records, including the school's billing statements. You may have to ask the school. 

Even if the VA money is not in box 5, you have to tell TurboTax, in the education interview, that you received VA benefits.  You may not claim a tuition credit for expenses paid by tax free GI benefits.
