I completed the SSA worksheet and the taxable amount is less then the "net" amount in Box 5 of my SSA1090. Why does my TurboTax section sill include the net amount?

You will see that 'net' amount reported in various places as you go through your return, especially on income summary screens.  That does not mean that what you are seeing is the taxable amount.

The summary screens are used more as a visual reference for you to be sure that the data you have entered is correct.  It is an easy way to catch an error such as adding an extra digit or transposing numbers.

Take a look at your actual Form 1040 to see that the taxable amount is different from your Box 5 amount.  You should see both numbers reported on line 5a and 5b.
