Go to your W-2 and delete the entry using the delete key. Occasionally, the computer remembers pieces of data that should be gone,

Watch to be sure you are selecting 'all time' as example. Do not use selections like 'last hour' for those browsers that give you options.
Once this is complete open your return and select to enter your social security withholding again. Please update here if you are still having the same experience.
IF you didn't make a major entry error in entering the W-2 data?
The other thing that folks sometimes do is to delete a couple cents from box 4 of the W-2.....just in case it happens to be some rounding issue.
Review your entries for boxes 3 and 4 of the W-2 to make sure you have entered the correct amounts.
Also, if filing joint return make sure each W2 is assigned to the right spouse.
First of all try leaving the cents off box 4.
Check boxes 3 & 4 on your W2. Box 4 should be 6.2% of box 3 up to a max of $9,932.40. So take the amount in box 3 and multiply it by .062. If box 4 is more than that you need to get a corrected W2 from your employer. But also go back and double check your W2 entries, you may have entered box 3 & 4 wrong. A lot of people who have asked this found they did enter an amount wrong.
Or check W2 box 12. You may have entered Code A by mistake.
A sure way to fix this is to delete the W2 and re-enter it. That may clear something out.
