Perhaps you are on the wrong screen. The RRB-1099 (blue copy) gets added in the Social Security benefits section of TurboTax. To get there:

  • Continue your return in TurboTax Online. (If your return isn't open, you'll need to sign in and click Take me to my return.)
  • Click My Account (top right of your screen).
  • Select Tools.
  • In the pop-up window, select Topic Search.
  • In the search bar, type ssa-1099.
  • In the results box, highlight ssa-1099, then click GO.
  • Answer Yes and click Continue when asked Did you receive and Social Security benefits?
  • Under Tell Us About the Benefits You Received, select Railroad Retirement Benefits (Form RRB-1099) and enter the information from your RRB-1099. (Click the screenshot below for reference.)
  • When finished, scroll down and click Continue, then follow the onscreen instructions to conclusion.

Note: If using the TurboTax CD/Download software, you'll use the Find function (instead of "My Account") to search for the topic.
