I duplicated information on the W2 section and the IRA contribution section, therefore it looked as though I maxed out on IRA contributions and were fined the 6% overage fee. Is it worth amending my 2018 tax return when I wasn't aware of my error when I filed.

Yeah, you'll need to Amend.
1)....wait for your original refund, or pay your original Balance due. Don't touch anything until you get that refund (or have paid).
2) then, the end of April or may, or June (if you have your refund by then) you can start your amended tax return. And go to the Deductions&Credits..IRA contribution section to delete that IRA contribution. It should result in an additional refund.
Don't start until the end of the month...everything is a nightmare right now and the rest of the week.
Make sure you follow the amendment procedures...and it has to be printed and mailed in by you....adn can take a few months to be processed.
