I am trying to type in bank for 1099-R form. Why isn't it showing up?

It sounds like you are referring to the import screen after starting the 1099-R topic.  There are thousands of banks in the US, and only some are financial partners with TurboTax for importing purposes.

Are you at a page with a bunch of logos and there is a financial institution search line, and it says to enter the name of your bank or financial institution?   And are you trying to enter the name of your 1099-R Payer there?   That screen is only for importing from a TurboTax participating import partner.    If you are not importing the 1099-R (don't want to or can't because your institution is not found), then don't enter anything there.

Instead, scroll down to the bottom right and click on a gray button "I'll type it in myself."  That gray button may not be visible until you scroll down.

The next screen will ask you to choose the "type of 1099-R".

Then the screen after that should be where you can enter the Payer of your 1099-R.
