I am retired from the state of Texas and have been since 2003. I did not file a 2019 tax return and have not filed a 2020 yet. How do I file for 2019.

My pension for 2019 was $25052.28
Taxes withheld were$2301.72
pretty much the same for 2020.

A 2019 and 2020 tax return can only be printed and mailed, they cannot be e-filed.

To complete and file a 2019 and 2020 tax return using TurboTax you would need to purchase, download and install on a personal computer one of the desktop editions for each tax year from this website - https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/past-years-products/

Or go to the IRS website for the federal tax return Form 1040 -

Form 1040 (2019) - https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/f1040--2019.pdf

Form 1040 Instructions (2019) - https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/i1040gi--2019.pdf

Texas has no state income tax, so not sure why you are mentioning TX.    You do not say if you live in a different state now---if you live in a state that taxes retirement income, then it is possible that the state you live in could tax your pension--even if it is coming from TX.   State laws regarding taxation of retirement income vary.

But as DoninGA said, you will have to prepare your returns using the CD/download now and print, sign and mail them.   Each return must be prepared separately.  Do not even try to mail them in the same envelopes.

You will need to attach the 1099R to each one for the pension income if tax was withheld.

When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.

Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses.  Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.
