I am getting a credit on schedule 5 social security excess in the amount that my wife paid in on her W-2. is that correct?

I capped out on the Social Security pay in of $7960.80 and when I was filing my taxes I am getting a credit of excess SS on Schedule 5 in the amount of 5752.00 which is exactly what my wife paid in on her W-2 from her employer.  Is this Schedule 5 credit correct?

No.  That means you have all of the income listed under only your name, and did not assign your spouse's W-2 to her name.  Go back to the W-2 section and change the way you entered her W-2.
