I also need more info re SSA exemption and Retirement Inc & Pension deduction - not sure if they apply for me regarding my pension.

Your Social Security Income is, by itself, tax exempt.  However, depending on how much other income you receive (retirement pensions, etc), it can be partly taxable (up to 85%).
