I accidentally clicked yes to the Canadian pension question and I don't know how to go back and answer no. Does anyone know how to go back and answer no?

It appears you entered the 1099-R under 'Canadian Registered Pension Income' instead of IRA, 401(k), Pension Plan Withdrawals. You will need to delete it and re-enter the 1099-R.

  1. Open your return and use the steps below to reach your entries
  2. Select Federal or Personal Income (based on your TurboTax Online or TurboTax Desktop)
  3. Scroll to Retirement Plans and Social Security > Select Canadian.... > Select Update and delete
  4. Finish the section until you come back to the  Your Wages and Income or Income summary
  5. Scroll to Retirement Plans and Social Security > Select IRA, 401(k), Pension Plan Withdrawals > Update or Start

Please update here with additional details and we will help.

I got that to, I suppose because I picked "walk me through everything".  What I did was create a name "None" for the Canadian pension, and pick who it was for (me) then went back and deleted the plan "None" from the list of Canadian plans.

There is no "update and delete" option.

I would like to take a deeper look at this. However, I need a diagnostic file which is a copy of your tax return that has all of your personal information removed. You can send one to us by following the  directions below:

TurboTax Online:

  1. Sign into your online account.
  2. Locate the Tax Tools on the left-hand side of the screen.
  3. A drop-down will appear. Select Tools
  4. On the pop-up screen, click on “Share my file with agent.”
  5. This will generate a message that a diagnostic file gets sanitized and transmitted to us.
  6. Please provide the Token number in a reply to this post.

TurboTax Desktop/Download Versions:

  1. Open your return.
  2. Click the Online tab in the black bar across the top of TurboTax and select “Send Tax File to Agent”*
  3. This will generate a message that a diagnostic copy will be created.  Click on OK and the tax file will be sanitized and transmitted to us.
  4. Please provide the Token Number that was generated in the response.

*(If using a MAC, go to the menu at the top of the screen, select Help, then Send Tax File to Agent”)

The diagnostic copy of your return didn't show any issues with a Canadian pension.

However, I recreated this issue in TurboTax Online, and deliberately clicked Canadian Registered Pension Income
When I went through Federal Review, I got a message that my "Canadian Pension" needs review.

I returned to the Canadian Pension section, clicked the trash can icon, and said "Yes" I want to delete this Canada RRP Wks

I didn't click Continue. I went back to the Federal Review, and the question about the Canadian pension was gone.

You may also find that when you go through Federal Review at this time, you will not receive any messages about any Canadian pension.
