How do I tell TT I had an RMD payment in 2026 for the 2025 tax year. There is not a 1099R since it was in 2026. I'm using the desktop version with the forms option. But I can use step by step if needed. Just need to know how to get to appropriate step.

No, you don't need to report anything on this return. You must take your first Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) by April 1 of the year after you turn age 73. If you turned 73 in 2025, your first RMD is due by April 1, 2026.
Because the distribution occurred in 2026, it generally cannot be reported on your 2025 tax return. Since you didn't take the RMD by December 31, 2025, the IRS considers it missed for that tax year. To fix this in TurboTax and request a waiver of the penalty, follow these steps:
Since you have TurboTax Desktop, you are able to generate the required form automatically and then request your waiver directly on the form, by following these steps:
Thank you for the detailed info; however, I forgot to mention that this was my 1st payment & I paid it before the 1st of Apr 2026 deadline (I'll pay taxes on it in 2026) so I assume it's not considered a missed payment. Given that I did it properly, do I have to indicate on my 2025 taxes that the RMD was properly paid? Again, I truly appreciate your help.

Just remember you have to take your 2026 RMD by Dec 31, 2026. So you will have 2 RMD to report on your tax return next year. You will probably get one 1099R for the total of both.
