How do I get my Mom's correct SSA-1099 info to enter Turbo Tax Premium? It keeps wrongly defaulting to my indo.

My wife's and my SSA income is nearly twice my widowed mother's. It defaults to our info (we filed a couple of weeks ago). This greatly reduces my Mom's refund due to her.

It looks like you're filing for your mom using your own TurboTax account.

 

You cannot do this and have to create a new account.

 

If you are using TurboTax Online, you cannot prepare and file a tax return for another person using an existing TurboTax account. You'll need to create a new account, distinct from the account you used to file the first return.

Are you using the same account and user ID for your mother's return that was used for your own tax return?  

That is a huge mistake that may have already destroyed your own tax return.

 

When you use online TurboTax software you get one return per fee.

 

Each return needs its own email, account and user ID.   If you use the same account and user ID for a second return, the second one overwrites the first return and it is lost forever.

Are you using the Online version?  Did you set up a new separate account for your Mom?  You can't use your account.  Online is only good for 1 return and 1 account.  And if you do Mom's return in your account then her return will overwrite your return and yours is gone.

 

You can start another return in TurboTax Online by:
Logging out if you are in your account
Choose what TurboTax Online product you want to use for the second return

Create your account screen
Set up a new login for the second return
Start working on the new return
