How do I enter "1099 Taxes" on Part 2 of Form 1116 for the Date Paid question?

Part 2(j) of the Foreign Tax Form 1116 requires you to enter "1099 Taxes" for the payment date if paid through a mutual fund and reported on the 1099.  Turbotax only lets you put a date "mm/dd/yy" in the field.  How can you override this and enter what the 1116 instructions say you should enter?

How do I enter "1099 Taxes" on Part 2 of Form 1116 for the Date Paid question?

I talked with TT support.  There is no way to override and enter 1099 Taxes.  I am just going to enter 12/31/2017 and hope for the best.  I suggested they improve the future product to be able to enter this into the field.

How do I enter "1099 Taxes" on Part 2 of Form 1116 for the Date Paid question?

I was able to enter "10/99 taxes" into the date field. However, TT marks it as an error in red. I'm going to see if there's a way I can ignore the error.

How do I enter "1099 Taxes" on Part 2 of Form 1116 for the Date Paid question?

I was able to enter <quote>1099 taxes<quote> into the date field, and it took it without error. Byte "<quote>" I mean actually typing the quote key. The start and ending quotes remain visible, but I assume that's okay.

Technically you are correct, but for some reason TT defaults on the date only. This issue has been brought up before, but nothing came of it.
