How do I cancel the account, I am retired and no longer need to file taxes

Not so fast..   What income do you have now?  If your only income was Social Security --- then you are correct-- you do not need to file.  But if you have any other income  like a pension,  investment income, distributions from an IRA or 401k, etc etc. you might still need to file a tax return.
