How can I make an entry for box 12a for form 1099r when there is no box 12a on my 1099r?

I have tried to delete this entry but can not. Is there anyway to override and submit tax return .

Because boxes 12,13,14 can have more than one row.

...........the first row showing is just given the added letter when it's needed to identify which "exact" box is being referred to.  
 Thus 12a,13a,14a refers to the first row of boxes 12,13,14

....and if you happen to need a second row (most people don't), then those will be 12b,13b,14b

Please make sure you are using the correct entry screen for the 1099-R.  If you select to enter the information yourself, you will see a screen, Tell Us Which 1099-R You Have.  Make sure you selected the correct type of 1099-R to enter:

• Form 1099-R, withdrawal of money from 401(k) retirement plans, pensions, IRAs, etc.
• CSA-1099-R, Civil Service annuity
• CSF-1099-R, Civil Service survivor annuity
• RRB-1099-R, Railroad Retirement Board annuities or pensions

It's best to delete the form you're working on and start a new one.  To do this in TurboTax (Windows) please follow these steps:

TurboTax Online

1. While in your return, click on Tax Tools > Tools (in the black bar at the side of your screen).  
2. In the Tools Center, under Other helpful links click on Delete a form.
3. Click Delete next to the form you want to delete and follow the onscreen instructions. 
4. Once you have finished deleting the desired form(s) click the Continue with My Return box (in the lower right of your screen).

TurboTax CD/Download

1. Go into Forms Mode by clicking on the Forms icon in the top right of the blue bar. 
2. In the Forms in My Return list on the left, click on the form you wish to open and delete.
3. Click on the Delete Form box at the bottom of the screen.
4. To return to the interview, click on the Step-By-Step icon in the top right of the blue bar.
