Yes, here is how you can remove your entries.

  1. Before deleting forms, try to "uncheck" the triggers in the interview.
  2. Go to Deductions & Credits > Retirement and Investments.
  3. Click Update/Revisit next to Traditional and Roth IRA Contributions.
  4. On the very first screen ("Select your IRA type"), uncheck both boxes (Traditional and Roth).
  5. Click Continue. TurboTax should ask if you want to remove the entries. Say Yes.

If this doesn't work.

  1. On the left-hand menu, click Tax Tools and then Tools.
  2. In the pop-up window, select Delete a form.
  3. Look for these specific forms and click Delete next to them:
  • IRA Contributions Worksheet (This is usually .
  • Form 8606 (Nondeductible IRAs).
  • IRA Explanation Statement (If you were doing a recharacterization).

Once deleted, click Done at the bottom and Restart your computer/browser. This clears the "cache" that often holds onto dead data.

For TurboTax Desktop (Windows/Mac):

  • Click the Forms icon in the top right corner.
  • In the list on the left, find the IRA Contributions Worksheet.
  • Highlight it, then click the Delete Form button at the very bottom of the screen.
  • Repeat for Form 8606 if it exists.
  • Switch back to Step-by-Step mode.

If none of these options work, you may wish to clear and start over, but only at a last resort.
